After years of sales and marketing experience working for Georgia-Pacific Corporation, then one of G-P’s largest distributors (Hillyard Industries), our founder started a consulting firm that has evolved over the decades to become Web Wizardry, an international marketing support firm.
One of our first major projects was developing one of the internet’s first e-commerce applications for TripMate Travel Insurance and their broker Global Alert. We programmed a complete insurance management application and claims handling system for their trip insurance programs. Our programming allowed travelers and their travel agents to purchase travel insurance as part of their airline ticket or cruise purchases, and then allowed TripMate associates to manage those policies and any claims incurred. We even calculated and printed commission checks for the travel agents who sold the policies! If you have ever checked the box to add trip insurance to your travels, you have likely used the system we developed. We also developed training materials, video promotional materials and other marketing pieces for Global Alert.
Since then, we have worked with dozens of clients to develop websites, provide marketing support or create custom applications. From helping Computer Instruments develop Lucent Technologies’ eIVR voice-recognition platform (“Press or say One to…”) to helping develop the late Famous Wally Amos’ children’s literacy website, we’ve had a lot of fun helping businesses, events, musicians, organizations and others make their presence known to the world!
